I really needed this. Im at the stage where everything feels like a dude. I start a scene and I feel like my FMC is just standing in a dark room and has no idea what theyre doing there or what they should even care about. Its killing my drive to write this story.
And ive remodeled several bathrooms, so I get the messy stage where something isnt going right but you know it just has to be done. Fix one thing at a time to get the polished product.

Such a great analogy. It took us 20+ years to remodel/renovate our 1901 farmhouse. The Southern Living clippings are what kept me going. My vision for my book is what is keeping me going now. Hopefully, it won’t take as long as the house. 🥴
Definitely in the demolition phase right now! I had a big milestone yesterday where the document containing my writing scraps officially became longer than my draft! Well, that could be a little disheartening… I feel excited about what it means for progress
It's like that moment when you take everything out of your closet and only put back in the stuff you love/that fits. It feels so empty, but it's just all the good stuff without the other things that don't serve you anymore in the way.
Just think of all the amazing story outfits you'll make from what's left!
